A St. Charles Police Department (SCPD) officer fatally shot a shirtless, chainsaw-wielding man who was allegedly threatening an assisted living center Sunday.
Witnesses reported that the suspect was trying to cut down a tree on the property of River Glen of St. Charles, the Illinois assisted living center, and gained entry to the lobby just before police arrived on the scene, the city said in a press release.
