Robert Pattinson has always seemed to be more down to earth than most Hollywood actors, but he just gave us reasons to doubt him after admitting he often lies during interviews.
Pattinson admitted to fibbing during an interview with The New York Times (NYT) published Wednesday. It seems the star can’t be trusted after he said he has a habit of making up stories on a whim. The 38-year-old recalled how he recently rewatched a 2011 interview with Matt Lauer on the “Today” show and said he caught himself off guard by the ease in which he was able to effortlessly fabricate a lie. The star told Lauer a story about how he had once seen a clown die in a circus, and he’s now saying that was entirely made-up, according to the NYT.

“There was absolutely no hesitation at all [in my voice],”Pattinson said about his own ability to lie, according to the NYT.
He seemed a bit alarmed and, dare I say, possibly impressed with his bizarre skill at lying on the spot.
“I’m like, ‘What on earth? Are you possessed?’” he said as he recalled the moment during his interview with the publication.
The famous actor went on to confess that he was actually just bored.
He explained how he got into the habit of making up stories because he wasn’t vibing with the mundane interviews about his fame.
“The only thing people would ever ask me about was being famous. You go into, like, a fugue state,” Pattinson told the NYT.
Pattinson also admitted to lying about being a women’s hand model and admitted he was being untruthful when he once said there is a deleted “Twilight” scene that included coprophilia. The actor also lied about once ridding himself of a stalker by dining with her and exhausting her with stories about his issues, he told the outlet.

It also makes us doubt the interview with the NYT — how do we know whether he’s lying about lying?
