Britney Spears appeared to be completely unhinged in an alarming video posted Monday on Instagram.
The famous pop star spoke in a childlike voice in a selfie video that sparked immediate concern for her mental health. She began by complaining about how she was portrayed by the paparazzi, then proceeded to tell her 41.9 million fans and followers that she believed she was a five-year-old child.
“It’s my birthday,” she said in the video. “I’m not turning 42, I’m turning five this year.”
Just when it appeared things couldn’t get more disturbing, they did. “I’m turning five years old and — um — I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow,” she said in her baby voice.

The video appeared to show the depths of Spears’ mental health struggles, and her die-hard fans couldn’t help but note that the star turned 43 this year, not 42. The video played like an absolute train-wreck that couldn’t be stopped, but it was also tough to turn away. Her words and the bizarre voice she was using were baffling, and it’s hard to imagine what Spears does to fill her time each day, considering how disconnected she seems to be from reality.
Spears’ bizarre behavior sparks concern amid reports that she finalized her divorce from Sam Asghari on her birthday.
The footage posted to her Instagram account blocked her followers from being able to post comments, but it’s not tough to predict the concern and confusion they may be feeling after seeing this video.

Spears appears to be mentally unwell, and the decline tracks back to the termination of her conservatorship in 2021. So many people fought to “free Britney,” but sadly, she really doesn’t seem to be managing very well on her own.
The troubled pop star needs professional assistance and day-to-day care if she truly believes she’s a five-year-old child.
In another video posted on the same day, Spears said the paparazzi hurt her feelings.

“They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me,” she said, before declaring that her challenging relationship with the press was the reason she has now moved to Mexico.

Spears could use some help, and we hope she has some support — especially if she continues to believe she’s a five-year-old child.
